Direct primary care is a simpler way to get healthcare: one provider who knows you, unrushed visits, and same-day access, for a flat monthly membership instead of insurance billing. At Homesteady Health, Matthew Simone keeps his panel small on purpose, so your care is personal and never rushed.
Serving Trumansburg, Ithaca, Lansing, Newfield, Dryden, Groton, and the surrounding Finger Lakes communities.
Direct primary care is a membership model for everyday healthcare. Instead of billing insurance for each visit, you pay a flat monthly fee that covers your primary care: check-ups, sick visits, ongoing condition management, and direct access to your provider. That simple change removes the insurance middleman from your everyday care, which is what makes unrushed visits and same-day access possible.
Direct primary care is a membership model: one flat monthly fee for unrushed visits, direct access to your provider, and no insurance billing between you and your everyday care.
Most members keep insurance for hospital care, specialists, and emergencies, and use their Homesteady Health membership for everything primary care handles day to day. It is not insurance; it is a better front door to your health.
Traditional primary care runs on volume: short visits, a rotating cast, and a stopwatch. Homesteady Health is built the opposite way. Matthew keeps his panel small on purpose, so your visits are unhurried, you see the same provider every time, and decisions are made with your whole history in view.
That relationship is the point. When your provider knows you, small things get caught early and big things get handled calmly, without you having to start over at every appointment or come into the office for every issue.
The difference you feel is time and access. Here is how the two models tend to compare.
| Homesteady Health (Direct Primary Care) | Traditional insurance-based care | |
|---|---|---|
| Typical visit length | Unhurried, often 30 to 60 minutes | Often 10 to 15 minutes |
| Same-day or next-day access | Included with membership | Often days to weeks |
| See the same provider | Yes, every visit | Varies |
| Message your provider directly | Yes | Rarely |
| Cost model | Flat monthly membership | Copays, deductibles, and claims |
| Insurance required | No | Yes |

Founder & Nurse Practitioner · Men's Health & TRT
Matthew founded HomeSteady Health to practice medicine without the clock and the profit-over-patient mindset of corporate care. Across more than 25 years he’s practiced family medicine in the Alaskan bush, worked trauma and the ER in fast-paced Philadelphia, and built urgent-care clinics there. Today he serves on the board of Region 2 of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York, where he was named NP of the Year in 2025.
He also lives the active Finger Lakes lifestyle — running, grappling, basketball, coaching, hunting, fishing, and time out on Cayuga Lake. He understands the energy his patients are trying to get back because he depends on it too. Hormone treatment is medical care, not a product: it requires proper testing, thoughtful interpretation, and ongoing follow-up. That’s the standard every fatigue evaluation here is held to.
